"A sin is not a sin, if committed with enthusiasm," we are told during this doomed love story between a man and a woman in the small town of Kreshev.
Narrated by Satan, dressed all in white, the play tells how the devil toys with people's desires, actions and emotions, turning the world into his plaything. Two actors create myriad characters in this raw and sinister production which combines live music with physical theatre.
Unfortunately the music doesn't always fit the atmosphere: twice, upbeat music plays during sad moments, preventing us from becoming emotionally involved. This aside, Satan's Playground is an eerie, engaging play.
