Winner of Drag Race UK, Ginger Johnson brings big hair, big personality, and a big canon to the Edinburgh Fringe as she embraces a new dream: to be a daredevil.

It is fair to say that everybody in the room knows what to expect, lapping up the shining neon jumpsuit of Ginger Johnson as she parades about the stage, singing musical numbers to an adoring crowd.

For those familiar with drag queen Ginger Johnson, the silly vulgarity of the show will come as no surprise, with fart jokes a constant recurrence throughout. Despite being initially amusing, the constant sound effect does grow slightly tired after its fifth or sixth use.

If juvenile and slapstick comedy is what you’re looking for, a breath of fresh air from reality, then this performance has it in abundance, with silly stunts and ‘daredevil’ confetti cannons procuring a wealth of laughter from the audience. However, if you were not a viewer of Drag Race UK, looking for witty or intellectual comedy, this is not the place.

All previous fans of Ginger Johnson will have a wonderful hour of laughs from the onscreen personality they know and love, but it is unlikely any new fans will be born.
