Dr Whisky and Reverend Bears explain why they’re not famous, mostly through bluesy songs about animals abusing or otherwise assaulting humans.

They make a thoroughly pleasant pair. Having lived in the country for 10 years, Dr Whisky is able to tailor jokes and lyrics to a predominantly German audience. English speakers may fear they’re missing out, especially when one chorus has to explain “It doesn’t work in translation.”

The standout tune is based on audience suggestion: the improvisation making lazy rhymes more excusable here than elsewhere.

However, the good Doctor and Reverend’s easy rapport can’t disguise the lack of variation in their material.
