Keith Farnan: Anonymous

Keith Farnan would prefer for no one to know anything about him, especially the evil corporations that run the internet. But staying anonymous isn’t easy when your name is on the flyer and your private details are all over the web.

The dangers of modern technology have never been more obvious to the comic. Having recently become a father has changed his world view – he doesn’t want his baby daughter growing up in a world where we all track each other all the time. Though he'll want to be able to keep track of her, of course, when the time comes - consistency falls by the way side where love is concerned. 

Comedians often disguise serious issues in cloaks of jokes. Farnan is one of the best at this. His concerns over the state of the internet are genuine and he backs them up with some shocking facts, though the gags sometimes fall by the wayside. He gets away with it: when a charming hirsute Irishman is telling you what's wrong with the world it’s easier to just sit back and enjoy it than worry about the details.
