This one man retelling of Homer’s epic is furious and fast paced. Indeed, cramming the story into just over an hour must leave both George Mann and the audience exhausted as he appears to be stuck in fast forward. Mann is able to create all manner of sound effects using only his voice, and his falsetto is certainly impressive. His rendering of characters, particularly the likes of "villains" such as the Cyclops and Calypso have more in common with Disney than anything else; in fact, his performance bears a similarity to the antics of the Genie from Aladdin. There’s perhaps more magic here for children than adults.
