Bill Clegg

Once an influential New York literary agent, Bill Clegg talks to close friend Andrew O’Hagan about battling heroin addiction and a dramatic fall from grace. His book on the topic—Portrait of an Addict as a Young Man—has won plaudits for its exploration of addiction and its causes.  This is bound to be a frank and introspective event.

Paul Murray and Simon Rich

One of a number of opportunities to see authors long listed for this year’s Man Booker Prize, the Irishman discusses his latest book, Skippy Dies, a darkly humorous take on a teenage death at a boarding school in suburban Dublin. He is joined by recent novel debutant and Saturday Night Live scriptwriter Simon Rich.

Alberto Manguel and Miguel Syjuco

Two writers of international pedigree come together to discuss their fiction. Blending together experiences of South America and the Philippines, the pair promise to delve into the political and historical undertones of their novels in this writers' retreat.
