Aussie Adam Vincent is a nurse and a standup – in that order. His Edinburgh debut, Vital Signs, is a well-staged but largely unimpressive show, consisting of an unruly set of observational anecdotes and performed with limited charisma. Vincent crafts his set around an incident on a jumbo jet when he was called upon to help a man desperately clutching his chest. However, even armed with such sensational material, Vincent fails to capitalise, firing a number of lazy gags about "impressing his wife" that make him seem callous and arrogant rather than funny.
