54 makes for enjoyable afternoon-entertainment for all those gossips out there. Set in a block of flats, the narrative takes us through the lives of people who live in our tenement through the course of a single day. The play is seemingly structured around a collection of short stories, and the cast makes use of interpretive dance and some other inventive techniques to recount the tales of the tenants. 54 succeeds to convey more joy than one would expect, especially considering its bleak script.
